LIVE Foundation Making Workshop
4 Day Workshop on creating custom wig foundations
This is a 4 day class that will meet one day a week over a week period. Each class will allow for 6 students.
Requirements: You must know how to knot to take this class.

Time: Each class will vary from 2-4 hours

Day 1 - We will review the videos on doing a head wrap and measurements, as well as stuffing out a head. These videos will be emailed to you approximately a week before class. Please watch each video and prepare any questions you may have. We will then do a brief hands on demonstration of whipstitching and different seams. You will then practice whipstitching to make sure you have it down before class is over.
Homework: complete a head wrap and measurements and stuff out your block. practice seams.

Day 2 - We will mark the sections on the block and lay the nape and middle back sections of your cap.
Homework: sew first two sections

Day 3 - We will lay the top and part. I will discuss adding elements to the foundation, such as elastic, tabs, clips, and combs

Day 4 - We will lay the front and discuss knotting directions. I will also briefly touch upon the different types of hair and their usage, as well as sourcing hair.

What will I need for class?
You will need the following supplies for class:

Wig Block - should be the size of your head

I take the hat circumference and then buy the size right under that measurement.

Foundation Lace - 1 meter

Front Lace - 40denier - 1/2 meter

Pillow Stuffing - the cheaper the better

Plastic wrap or a 12x12 2mil plastic bag

Class Requirements
Pictures of your homework must be turned in the Sunday before the next class by 12pm eastern time if you would like to receive critic of your work.
​
This is a pass/fail class. If you would like to receive a certificate for the class, your final foundation must be mailed to me for an in person critique. If the foundation does not have too many errors and I am confident in the quality, then a certificate will be issued. If the foundation does not meet standards, a second foundation can be made and submitted with all correction addressed to receive a certificate.
